Treat Yourself to Halloween Candy, Really?

As Halloween is upon us again, Dr. Love’s Integrative Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine would like to offer you some helpful hints on sugar.

Consider limiting the amount of sugar free products eaten during this holiday.  “Sugar free” substitutes, which are chemicals (Sweet Low, Splenda & Equal) are known neurotoxins and do just as much damage to the metabolism and digestive system.

So what are some healthier alternatives?

-         Coconut sugar products such as chocolate bars such as Lily’s Sweet Life

-         Stevia sweetened treats; and

-         Natural fruit – careful as dried fruit has a high sugar content.

Hope this information helps.  If so, send me a comment or inbox on my webpage or social media sites.
